The Rev. Dr. Nancy Jo Dederer is a life-long Presbyterian who grew up in Sylvania, Ohio. She graduated from Alma College in Alma, Michigan with a B.A. in Speech & Theatre for Secondary Education. After college Nancy worked as the Director of Christian Education at Circleville Presbyterian Church. Sensing a call to pastoral ministry, Nancy attended Princeton Theological Seminary, where she graduated with a Master of Divinity degree. She was awarded the Jagow Prize for Speech & Homiletics, the Bryant Kirkland Prize in Practical Theology, and the Friar Club Award for service to the seminary community. Nancy was ordained in 1991 in Circleville and has served as a pastor to churches in Manassas, Virginia and Homewood, Illinois. In 2007, she earned her Doctor of Ministry degree in Parish Revitalization from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL. Nancy has undergone training in transitional ministry and worked with two congregations in North Carolina, as well. In July 2022, in a bold move by the Holy Spirit, Nancy was called back to Circleville Presbyterian Church as our pastor. Nancy’s husband Chris is the Organist/Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church of Grove City, OH. They have an adult son, Andrew, who is a Rock Climbing Route Setter for Mesa Rim Climbing Gym in Austin, Texas. Nancy enjoys traveling, playing Scrabble, and singing. For Nancy, music has been an avenue for expressing her faith. She began singing in church choir in first grade and has had a song in her heart ever since.
