Rita Painter

Chancel Choir Director

Rita has been Chancel Choir director since 1993. She began singing in church choirs at the age of 10 and continued her love of music by attaining a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Murray State University in Kentucky. She was a band director for ten years in the Westfall School District in Pickaway County. As a clarinet player, Rita enjoyed playing in the Pickaway Winds woodwind quintet for five years. Rita left teaching in 1986 to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Student Personnel from The Ohio State University. Upon completing her Master’s degree in 1988 she began working for The Ohio State University College of Dentistry as Financial Aid Administrator. In 1995 Rita became an Assistant Director in the Office of Student Financial Aid responsible for coordinating all Professional School Financial Aid Awarding. She has served on the implementation teams of two computer systems; one in 1998 and the second currently being implemented. Upon returning to the main office, she will assume the roll of Associate Director. Rita has two daughters; Erin who is our Bell Choir Director and lives with her husband Jeremy in Circleville and Sarah who is a freshman at Fordham University in Lincoln Center New York. Rita lives in Circleville with her husband Doyle, a computer technician.
